As new features past the 1.0 in planned are added, their description and implementation date will be listed here.
A practice tool for budding musicians to drill chords to memory. Why commit chords to memory? You memorize the sound of the chord over time, leading to eventual recognition of chords in other songs by ear. You could eventually play a bassline without thinking, leaving the other hand to practice the melody. Useful for improvisation and immediately jumping into a song without hesitation. I made this app because I was practicing a chord progression and didn't like how I had to shift focus to my hands constantly as I considered the shape and position of it. "What would be a good way to practice?"" And so I started working on this instead of actually practicing!
Configure keys, chord types, inversions, and timing to build fluency across all 12 keys.
Quick, freeform practice in a single key. Pick a key and mode, choose which chords to include, set your timing (seconds or BPM), and press Start. Great for warming up or drilling a specific key.
Multi-key sessions with a planned progression. Build a list of keys, set chord sequences or random order for each, configure loops and durations, then run through them all in one session. Ideal for longer, focused practice across multiple keys.
Track your progress across all keys and chord types. See how well you're doing in each key and mode, given a number of criteria such as time to correctly play a chord, how often it has been played correctly, a natural anki style time degration curve, practice speed, chord preview enabled, and more.
The package we use to detect MIDI inputs doesn't work on other browsers. Even Chrome on mobile is just modified safari. Other MIDI packages apparently are not as good when it comes to speed/detection and I didn't want to bloat the app and make it bigger/slower to load just to have inferior MIDI detection. Will just have to wait for the ios/android apps to come out
Yeahhhh, that's next on my todo-list
I'd have to implement a user login + data store, which is out of scope for now. Once it gets popular enough, maybe. But I think I'd have to pay extra server space to hold such info and I have like no users since I'm focused on building > advertising so this would be another out of pocket price for me on something I make no return on investment on
